Peter Kelly named managing director of Accord Healthcare UK

Accord Healthcare has appointed Peter Kelly as its UK managing director, a move that sees him transition from Actavis, whose UK and Ireland operations Accord acquired last year.

Kelly spent 12 years at Actavis, most recently as commercial director. The Actavis Generics business was acquired from Allergan in 2016 by Teva, which then sold a chunk of it to Accord Healthcare, a subsidiary of Indian generics firm Intas Pharmaceuticals.

Kelly said: “Accord Healthcare is one of the fastest growing generic pharmaceutical companies in the UK, with us supplying one in six of the UK’s generic medicines. We remain committed to R&D and bringing cost competitive new products to market at the earliest opportunity.

Meanwhile, former Actavis UK managing director Jonathan Wilson has been appointed vice president, West Europe at Accord Healthcare.

He spent three years heading up Actavis’ UK operations and before that help senior commercial roles at Sandoz and Novartis.
