The technology firm Philips has appointed Sameer Garde to lead its healthcare business in South Asia.
Garde, who most recently lead enterprise business at Samsung, will be responsible for driving and building the healthcare business for Philips in India.
He replaces Krishna Kumar who had held the role in conjunction with his position as managing director at Philips India since the beginning of the year. He will carry on solely as managing director for Philips India.
Garde was only with Samsung for a short period, joining in July 2013. His prior experience includes several years at Dell in a variety of sales and management positions.
Commenting on his appointment, Garde said: "I am looking forward to this new role in Philips and am excited about working with the Philips Healthcare team to strengthen our leadership in the healthcare space in India.”
