Portland Health has made a brace of new hires in response to what the London-based communications and public affairs consultancy said were ‘significant new business wins’.
Joining as account director and senior account manager, respectively, are Julia Flint (pictured right) and Katie Russell.
Flint joins from Red Health, where she spent four and a half years. With experience in a wide range of therapeutic areas, she has advised the likes of Abbott UK, MSD, Novartis Oncology UK, Pfizer UK, Sanofi Diabetes and Johnson & Johnson.
Flint has established extensive patient advocacy partnerships across a number of disease areas and campaigns and has delivered award-winning UK and international product and disease awareness campaigns in ethical healthcare public relations. In her new role, she will lead on healthcare media and public relations.
Meanwhile, Russell, who joins Portland Health after more than three years with Insight, is a parliamentary, public affairs and campaigns specialist, with experience in endocrinology, oncology, chronic pain, haematology and sexual health.
Working with clients including Sanofi, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer and thrombosis charity Lifeblood, Russell has successfully delivered integrated market-access and disease awareness campaigns.
In her new role she will will take a lead on healthcare political, stakeholder and public affairs for Portland’s clients.
The recruitment drive was prompted by significant new business wins over the last couple of months and a spokesperson told PMLiVE these included “a major pharmaceutical company, an international technology company targeting NHS markets, and a trade body working on the public health agenda”.
