Red Door appoints Dinning to lead youth engagement

Former Phoenix Consultancy managing director appointed head of new outreach programme

Red Door Communications Sandie Dinning

Sandie Dinning is to lead Red Door Communications’ new youth and community engagement offering.

Former managing director and founder of The Phoenix Consultancy, Dinning (pictured) has spent more than two decades developing education and community outreach programmes.

These include programmes for early years and ‘hard to reach’ settings, schools, youth groups and directly to parents on behalf of clients, such as Reckitt Benckiser, Novo Nordisk and AstraZeneca.

“We have known Sandie for many years and worked with her on previous educational health campaigns, so we are thrilled to welcome her to the senior Red Door team as head of youth and community engagement,” said managing director, Catherine Devaney.

“Sandie has a fantastic and well-deserved reputation and has great relationships with key professional associations and influencing bodies, I am sure that our clients will benefit enormously from her insight and experience.”

There are four elements to Red Door’s youth and community engagement proposition, Devaney told PMLiVE:

• Extending the (health) messaging on behalf of clients in and through the current UK education framework and early years environment
• Working with and supporting health professionals who engage through schools, for example school nurses, or dentists
• Reaching out to youth groups through extended and out of school activities
• Communicating with ‘hard to reach’ communities through support groups such as Kids Company.

“The essence of the offer is about extending health related messaging, therefore we see this adding value to any client who has a health message that can be legitimately communicated to these audiences.”

Red Door has engaged with these types of audiences before, Devaney added, particularly through its vaccines work, Dinning’s in-depth experience and contacts make this a new offering for the agency.

“I am delighted to be joining Red Door at this exciting time in the consultancy’s development and look forward to continuing to deliver creative, innovative and meaningful education and community outreach programmes,” said Dinning.
