Richard Ranieri leaves Dendreon for Biomarin

Will head human resources and corporate affairs

BioMarin Pharmaceutical has named former Dendreon executive VP Richard Ranieri as senior VP, human resources and corporate affairs.

Ranieri spent three years in his position at Dendreon, having joined from Sepracor where he was executive VP, human resource and administration.

He has also served in executive positions at Neurocrine Biosciences, Genencor International and Smithkline Beecham.

“He brings a wealth of human resources experience to the company as we continue our rapid growth,” said Jean-Jacques Bienaime, CEO of BioMarin.

“He has the depth and breadth of global experience that BioMarin needs as it scales its operations to meet its expanding business."

This expanding business includes the company's poly ADP ribose polymerase (PARP) inhibitor BMN-673, which is being studied in several cancer indications.
