Sanofi appoints Stefan Oelrich to its executive team

He joins as executive vice president, diabetes and cardiovascular

Stefan OelrichSanofi has appointed Stefan Oelrich as executive vice president, diabetes and cardiovascular (DCV) and he will also join the executive committee.

Oelrich has served as head of Sanofi’s global diabetes franchise since June 2016 and as acting head of the DCV North America business since July.

He has previously served as DCV Europe Region Head and Sanofi Europe Coordinator, and was involved in establishing the DCV global business unit since mid-2015.

Oliver Brandicourt, chief executive officer, Sanofi, said: “Stefan is a highly effective leader who has demonstrated his ability to deliver strong results during his tenure at Sanofi.

“As one of the architects of our diabetes and cardiovascular business unit, I am confident Stefan will succeed in driving our strategy forward in the coming years.”

Oelrich has previously held positions for Bayer, including general manager, vice president of marketing and senior vice president and general manager of its US Women’s Healthcare franchise.
