Shire appoints finance-focused board member

Shire has strengthened its financial knowledge with the appointment of Fominic Blakemore as non-executive director.

Blakemore is current group financial director of contract catering firm Compass Group, while previous experience includes time as chief financial officer of Iglo Foods and finance and strategy director of  confectionary company Cadburys.

He has pharma experience form his time at PricewaterhouseCoopers where his clients included life sciences firms.

“Shire has an excellent track record of growth and a clear strategy. I look forward to playing a part in this growing company's future,” said Blakemore.
