Sophia Genetics names Marylin Mermod Schule as CFO

Mermod Schule is former deputy director of Benjamin de Rothschild Bank

Mermod Schule joins the firm, which specialises in data driven medicine, from Benjamin de Rothschild Bank where she held the role of deputy director.

She joined the bank in 2006 and held numerous key roles in corporate finance and private equity, including the co-development of a new private equity division.

Commenting on her appointment, Marylin Mermod Schule said: “Sophia Genetics stands out among its peers in Europe in the rapidly growing field of genetic data analysis.

“The growth of precision medicine and increasing public interest in the value of genetic testing mean it’s a great time to come on board. I look forward to being part of the team that brings this important medical breakthrough to a greater number of patients.”

Mermod Schule has extensive experience in healthcare, previously holding the positions of CEO and CFO of the Swiss clinic La Matairie. She additionally features in Swiss Employers Union’s top 400 women in Switzerland list.

In her new role, Mermod Schule will strive to improve operations across different business units by providing financial strategic insight.
