Allergan's Julia Kendrick recognised as Young Achiever

Stood out in a hotly contested category at the Communiqué Awards 2013

Allergan’s Julia Kendrick picked up the Young Achiever in Healthcare Communications award at last week’s Communiqué event.

The judges said Kendrick, who is currently corporate affairs and public relations manager for the company’s medical franchise, stood out in a hotly contested category with some hugely impressive finalists.

“We were impressed by her clarity of thinking and by her breadth of experience and what she was able to demonstrate was the immense integrity she’d shown in making some of the choices she’d had to make over and above choosing the easy way and the low-hanging fruit.

“It is for these reasons we’re really proud to announce Julia as this year’s Young Achiever,” the Communiqué judges said.

They also took note of “her self-awareness, her supreme confidence and her presence, but without the slightest hint of arrogance”.

Kendrick officially joined Allergan in a newly-created, full-time role in January, but spent 2012 on secondment to the company from Chandler Chicco Agency.

During this time she quickly mastered a new role of in-house PR Counsel for Allergan, bringing consumer-focused insights and fresh ideas.

She did this at a challenging time for the company, and breast aesthetics in general, due to the impact of criminal activity of French implant manufacturer PIP.

The Communiqué Awards 2013, which took place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane on July 4, is run by PMLiVE publishers PMGroup. The programme is specifically designed to recognise and commend excellence and best practice in local, European and international healthcare communications.
