Cancer Treatment Centers for America (CTCA) has hired Ketchum as its first national PR agency.
According to Chris Hamrick, director of corporate public relations for CTCA, the decision was made after a review process and that the agency had already begun work for the CTCA.
CTCA owns three hospitals in Chicago, Tulsa and Philadelphia. The group is set to open a fourth in Phoenix, and two more to follow soon.
Ketchum's work will involve media outreach and an increased focus on raising public awareness of the company executives.
Nancy Hicks, SVP and head of the North American healthcare practice at Ketchum, said that the business provided a boost for the Chicago office. Hamrick explained that the CTCA was due for a national PR effort after having concentrated mostly on advertising and online efforts.
