Digitas wins web award

Digitas Health has won a 2009 Web Marketing Association WebAward for ThrombosisAdviser, a website about the risks and causes of thrombosis

Digitas Health has won a 2009 Web Marketing Association WebAward for ThrombosisAdviser, an international resource for healthcare professionals about the risks and causes of thrombosis, just months after the agency commenced business in London.

The resource was designed with Bayer Schering Pharma AG and an international advisory board composed of specialists in the field of venous and arterial thrombosis. The site also informs about the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic diseases.

The WebAward judges praised it for its innovation, design, content, interactivity and use of technology. Doctors can access a unique medical image resource library to use in presentations, and to share with patients. The site was created to be translated, localised and tailored to the regulatory, legal and medical needs of countries around the world.

In many countries there is a widespread under-appreciation of the degree to which abnormal blood clot formation contributes to significant illness and death all over the world. ThrombosisAdviser focuses on education and innovation in the field to improve patient care.

"Our mission is to help our clients create effective and helpful resources for physicians. Doctors are looking online for the latest research, information, and educational materials. Thrombosis Adviser calls attention to a serious condition and gives doctors up-to-date information and resources in the field of thrombosis. We are pleased to be recognised by the Web Marketing Association for this effort," said June Dawson, SVP, Managing Director, Digitas Health, London.

Ian Talmage, Therapeutic Area Head Thrombosis, Bayer Schering Pharma, added: "Our aim was to create a high-quality site to stimulate engagement in the therapeutic area and provide a valuable resource on thrombosis to healthcare providers and patients alike."
