Medical communications agency, Fishawack (with offices in Knutsford and Abingdon), has acquired US-based Nexus Communications. The two companies have worked closely together as informal partners over the past nine years.
The move is part of a strategic acquisition programme to position Fishawack as the leading independent healthcare communications agency over the next three years.
Oliver Dennis, principal founder of Fishawack Communications, says: "This is the logical next step for both businesses. More and more, clients expect global medical communications agencies to have a presence on both sides of the Atlantic. Whilst we have achieved this in the past through our exclusive partnership arrangement, we know that this formalisation is what our clients wanted to see. Ours is a people business, and our current clients and staff members see this as a positive step."
Mike Caso, principal founder of Nexus Communications, will continue to run Nexus. Caso said: "We've already been working together for a long time and the deal will cause little disruption, whilst facilitating greater consistency of service, sharing of resources, and greater organisational strength."
