Golin opens office in Malaysia

Partners with PR consultancy Rantau

The Interpublic Group of Companies’ (IPG) communications firm Golin has expanded its global footprint, opening an office in Malaysia.

The firm has partnered with independent PR consultancy Rantau, with founder Janitha Sukumaran and chief executive Gogulan Dorairajoo at the helm of the new brand affiliate offering.

Rantau’s general manager Adeline Phun and head of strategy and new initiatives Julia Nicolas will also lead the new office, which will retain its original team.

It will be known as Rantau Golin, and the firm will offer public relations solutions to Malaysian-based clients.

“In order to be progressive for our clients, we must not only push our creative boundaries but also expand our global presence in key markets with abounding opportunities,” said Jon Hughes, co-CEO, Golin.

“Together with our offices in Singapore and Jakarta, the new office in Malaysia will enable us to build a cohesive service network and further bolster our capabilities in Southeast Asia so that we may create real impact for our clients.”

According to the company, Rantau Golin will tap into Golin’s network of resources and talent to bolster strategies that will deliver results for local clients.

“I’m extremely excited about this partnership especially because we share and strongly cherish Golin’s position in the marketplace to reclaim public relations, redefine it and move our industry forward,” said Dorairajoo.

“I am confident that this partnership will not only allow us to provide clarity on our offerings for clients, but also assist Golin in their goal to serve a profoundly diverse global market. With Rantau Golin, our office will truly reflect the city and community that we’re based in. As communicators, we need that common denominator to earn attention for our clients’ brands.

Rantau was founded in 1992, and has since specialised in various industries and businesses ranging from auto and technology, property, finance, education and sports.
