Huntsworth restructures its Apothecom med comms operations

Integrates ApotheCom and ApotheCom ScopeMedical teams

Huntsworth Health

Huntsworth Health has brought two of its medical communications agencies together under a new brand as Apothecom Medical Communications, which the group says will be ‘a single, global powerhouse’.

The new offering is the result of integrating the medical communications and scientific services assets of the ApotheCom and ApotheCom ScopeMedical teams worldwide.

Apothecom Medical Communications will have new global leadership, an enhanced digital strategy and new service offerings.

The agency will have offices in Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Diego, Shanghai, Singapore, Auckland, Marlow, and London, with a Manhattan office scheduled to open later this year.

Leading the new management team will be Elaine Ferguson, who was appointed as global CEO earlier this year. Ferguson joined from inVentiv Health where she headed up its global medical communication organisation.

Meanwhile, Leslie Taylor joins as a senior engagement specialist and will focus on the convergence of technology and problem solving across all medical communication services.

In a statement the group said: “By bringing together medical communications talent within a single global powerhouse, ApotheCom is uniquely able to create and deploy teams across many geographies, drawing on specialised skills and specific market expertise.”

The new structure creates dedicated practice areas in scientific communications and publications, medical education, and access pathways and outcomes. It will also focus on therapeutic areas of excellence across chronic diseases, oncology, and specialised medicine.

Huntsworth Health said it has designed the new matrix structure to fuel innovation and support flexibility, while also allowing greater specialisation and a focus on multi‐functional team working.

Neil Matheson, Huntsworth Health’s global CEO, said: “Huntsworth Health has always been built on the foundation of strong science.

“By augmenting our scientific team under unified leadership and strategy in ApotheCom, we have also strengthened the core of Huntsworth Health, providing scientific and clinical medicine capabilities to all agencies as well as powering our medical communications business for growth.”
