Israel's pharmaceutical exports to the EU racked up USD 252m in H1 2007, or 42 per cent more than in H1 2006.
Total pharmaceutical exports rose six per cent to reach USD 1.5bn.
Israel exports to 120 countries, according to the Manufacturers Association of Israel Chemical and Pharmaceutical Society (MAICPS) chairman, Chaim Hurvitz, who is also vice-president of Israeli pharmaceutical sales at the world's largest generics manufacturer, Teva Pharmaceutical.
Pharmaceutical exports to the US accounted for 75 per cent of the industry's total export revenue of USD 1.2bn in H1 2007. The figure is two per cent less than that recorded in the corresponding period of 2006. Exports in terms of volume to the US rose by 67 per cent.
