Lions Health awards open for entry

Creativity in health festival makes its debut next year

Lions HealthEntries can now be submitted to the first Lions Health awards, which will be held next year as part of a two-day festival of healthcare marketing and communications creativity.

Part of the renowned Cannes Lions international festival of creativity, entries to the inaugural Lions Health awards are being accepted into two sections.

The Pharma section, is split into two categories – pharma communications to healthcare professionals and pharma communications to non-healthcare professionals categories.

The second section, Health & Wellness, covers health and wellness consumer products and health and wellness education and services.

Work can be submitted across seven different media channels: broadcast, print, outdoor, direct, promo & activation, PR, digital and mobile and integrated.

Grand Prix awards are up for grabs in both the Pharma and Health & Wellness sections, with additional gold, silver and bronze awards to be handed out within each.

Two teams of industry leaders will meet in Cannes to discuss the entries, led by jury presidents Jeremy Perrott, global creative director at McCann Health, and Saatchi & Saatchi's chief creative officer Kathy Delaney, representing the Pharma and Health & Wellness categories, respectively.

As jury president, Delaney said she would be looking for “a unique perspective and new, fresh ways of thinking about healthcare”.   “Yes, there are strict regulations but I want to see who is actually finding ways to use these limitations to their advantage and creating an innovative messaging platform,” she added.

Throughout the two-day Lions Health Festival, all entries will be available for delegates to view at dedicated interactive kiosks, alongside exhibitions of the shortlisted work, which will be made available following the juries' decisions.

"Lions Health is the culmination of three years of discussions with the industry," said Philip Thomas, CEO of Lions Festivals. "The health agencies came to us to suggest creating a festival and awards that benchmarks the sector and raises the creative bar."

The first Lions Health Festival will take place on 13 & 14 June, 2014 in Cannes, France and details of how to enter can be found at www.lions-health.com.
