McCann Health has responded to the developing US healthcare landscape by building on its consumer-focused communications. To facilitate this, the company has made two senior appointments.
In New York. Leo Tarkovsky is joining the group's specialised consumer health agency McCann HumanCare as president. Tarkovsky has more than 20 years' integrated marketing experience, and joins from JWT New York, where he spent seven years as director of business strategy.
As president, Tarkovsky's mandate will include broadening McCann HumanCare's marketplace position to include a new suite of direct-to-consumer, over-the-counter (OTC), and prescription-to-OTC capabilities complemented by new patient engagement modules.
McCann HumanCare's refreshed focus will include areas such as mobile health platforms, improved healthcare professional-patient information management programs, and unique patient user-experience modules with extensive performance analytics, the agency said.
Also as part of McCann Health's expansion in the US, Susan Duffy is joining the New York-based McCann Regan Campbell Ward as president. She will be responsible for the day to day running of the agency, working directly with founder Maureen Regan.
Duffy was most recently a senior vice president at Omnicon Group, helping lead strategy for integrating and consolidating the network's global healthcare businesses. She has more than 10 years' experience working directly with US and global healthcare clients.
The addition of Duffy will strengthen the management team as McCann RCW builds up its professional communications capabilities, the agency said.
