McCann Health on a high after Clio Healthcare Awards

Secures most 2012 awards overall, while McCann Torre Lazur wins three

McCann Health has topped the roll-call of winners at this year’s Clio Healthcare Awards in New York, picking up more awards than any other group.

The global advertising network’s McCann Torre Lazur agency took home one of only six gold awards presented this year and secure a further two bronze awards.

Meanwhile, McCann Health Sydney won a bronze for their corporate identity design submission.

Jeremy Perrott, global creative director for McCann Health, said: “One thousand entries in this year’s Clio Healthcare Awards from around the world made for a very strong show. Only six gold awards in the whole show and we won one of them; then four bronze statues.

“This gold Clio is a massive achievement, from a job done brilliantly. Hard work pays off: believing in our work and sticking with the principle of working with the best to produce the best – resulting in delivering gold.”

Perrott added: “These awards are becoming more and more difficult to win as the global standard becomes higher and higher as a direct result from the brilliant work being produced.”

Other winners at the event included Serviceplan Health & Life (part of the Indigenus network), which took gold in the digital category for its work on an app for UNICEF, and Publicis New York, which won silver for their P&G/Crest 3D White Strips work in the print category.

The 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award went to Rob Rogers, Co-CEO, Americas at Sudler & Hennessey.

McCann Torre Lazur’s much prized gold was won for its ‘Erbitux: See the Difference Film’ (for Merck Serono). The agency’s bronze awards were awarded for its film on Lodotra (for Mundipharma) and its breast cancer awareness film (for the NHS).

Phil Bartlett, managing director of McCann Health London, said: “We’re extremely proud of our achievements here – these awards show that we’re doing the right things in the right ways, following through our creative vision from planning right through to production.

“The team here never stop pushing themselves and each other to bigger and better things and are a credit to the agency and the network,” added Bartlett.
