Ogilvy Health UK has announced the launch of apio – which it says is the first specialist workplace learning company specifically catering to the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector.

The London-based company creates bespoke learning programmes for clients in specialist areas, from compliance to digital transformation, with the focus on using digital learning technologies.

The new service is led by Laura Ansloos, a seasoned agency leader who has worked at the forefront of learning technology and healthcare communications.

The apio team is made up of workplace learning, brain science and learning technology experts, who have experience in learning transformation and behaviour change programmes across FTSE100 businesses and public health service.

Ogilvy Health UK says the new offering has been built in response to the rapid pace of change in the sector, which requires employees to be constantly adding to their knowledge and expertise.  What’s more, the digital age means today’s workforce expects learning systems to be personalised, relevant and “always on”.

“apio is excited to be the first workplace learning company dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry, providing clients with expert sector and workplace learning approaches that work for their unique environment,” explains Laura Ansloos. “We believe that our clients deserve and need the same specialism from their workplace learning partners that they have grown to expect from their medical marketing agencies.”

The company says apio will deliver expertise in the design, delivery and measurement of learning and performance programmes.

It says it will do this by maximising learning technology for its ability to personalise, reach and provide measurable insights.

“The creation of apio will enable us to deliver transformational workplace learning programmes to our clients in addition to the specialist marketing services we already provide the industry” said Caroline Howe, CEO of Ogilvy Health UK.
