Otsuka utilises Envision Pharma Group’s medical affairs platform

The programme offers Otsuka’s stakeholders a more “user friendly” experience

iEnvisionIn a bid to step up its medical affairs-related activity, Otsuka has introduced iEnvision – a programme by Envision Pharma Group – to boost the group’s workflow.

Along with investigator sponsored studies, medical education and charitable contributions, the Japanese pharma firm will use the programme to compliantly manage the distribution of publications and medical materials via the iEnvision library.

According to Envision Pharma Group, Otsuka was previously using isolated solutions for its medical affairs business and “sought a single replacement, globally scalable software programme that could provide flexibility and cross-activity coverage”.

Dusan Kostic, vice president of Otsuka, said: “We are pleased to offer external stakeholders a more user-friendly and efficient experience when submitting requests for medical education grants, charitable contributions, and investigator sponsored studies, that will also enable us to respond to requests in a more efficient manner.”

A staged rollout is now being implemented, which began with the US launch for all activities late last year.

Additionally, an internal and external communication programme was also developed by Envision’s operational excellence unit to introduce, explain and help accelerate adoption of the medical affairs ecosystem.

Kelli Walker, director of platform strategy, Envision Pharma Group, said: “With iEnvision, Otsuka has implemented a scalable Medical Affairs platform and ‘Ecosystem’ for its companies around the world, providing transparency, tracking, reporting, compliance, and process alignment across multiple activities, with resulting efficiencies offering significant cost savings over time.”
