Shire launches ADHD and You educational website

Resource designed for patients, carers and HCPs

Shire, ADHD educational programme

Shire US has launched a US-focused educational programme for people with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), their families and healthcare professionals (HCPs).

The ADHD: A Shared Focus programme was developed by Shire Patient Advocacy Specialists and will be delivered through multiple channels, including print and online.

The website, ADHD & You, features information about the condition, its diagnosis, as well as recommended components for an ADHD management plan and provides decided sections for patients, carers and healthcare professionals.

“Through the work Shire has done in the field of ADHD to support patients, caregivers, and health care professionals, we have gained a tremendous depth of knowledge about ADHD,” said Michael Yasick, senior vice president of Shire’s Behavioral Health Business Unit.

“As a result, we identified a need for more resources for people impacted by ADHD and those who care for them.

“The goal of these resources is to encourage dialogue between people with ADHD, their caregivers and health care professionals,” Yasick said.

Shire has a portfolio of ADHD drugs and a history of ADHD patient support, which has seen it back a Europe-wide campaign to drive awareness of the condition in schools and the establishing of a scholarship programme for US ADHD students.
