Synovate appoints head of oncology in US

Synovate has appointed Jackie Ilacqua to the newly created role of head of oncology

The healthcare division of global market intelligence company, Synovate, has appointed Jackie Ilacqua to the newly created role of head of oncology.

Formerly responsible for building and managing Synovate's global oncology monitor, Ilacqua, based in the US, is now tasked with continuing to develop the agency's portfolio of services within oncology.

This includes maximising the potential of the company's extensive oncology expertise across both its syndicated and custom research businesses. Ilacqua will also drive the creation of new oncology services in the areas of sales force effectiveness; forecasting; the agency's key opinion leader work; advanced analytics; and oncology market modelling.

Ilacqua joined Synovate (then Tandem Research) in 1991. She has more than 18 years of therapy area research experience, the last four of which have been solely dedicated to oncology.

Bob Douglas, global head of Synovate healthcare said: "Oncology is the largest pharmaceutical market in the world and continues to show good growth. Our recent expansion of our global oncology monitor is testament to that. Jackie's appointment to this role is a demonstration of our commitment to this important field of research – she has the oncology experience and extensive know-how to ensure that we are delivering the best the industry has to offer in this area, on both a global and local market level."

Ilacqua will continue to lead Synovate's global oncology monitor.
