The Porterhouse Medical Group is delighted to welcome Pasquale (Pat) Iannuzzelli, who joins the team as Senior Vice President, Scientific Services at Porterhouse Medical US.

With a passion for high science, Pat holds a BS in Biology from the University of Iowa and a PhD in Neurobiology from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. While working towards his PhD, he was an Adjunct Professor at Arcadia University where he taught Animal and Human Physiology. He also received a postdoctoral fellowship in Developmental Neurobiology at the University of California, Irvine.

Pat brings over 20 years’ experience to the group having worked in medical communications as a medical writer and medical director – during which time he won a national award (the Eric W. Martin Award) from the American Medical Writers Association for an outstanding monograph related to the pharmaceutical sciences (The Physiology of Wound Healing).

Pat’s excellent experience also extends client-side through pharma, working for GlaxoSmithKline in 2003 as Manager of Global Scientific Communications and Director of Data Dissemination. At GSK he was part of the leadership team that developed and implemented new SOPs for Best Publications Practices. Later, he was part of the team that developed guidelines for sharing patient-level data—a practice that is now required by many regulatory agencies and medical journals. Most recently, he was an independent medical writer and publications planning consultant on behalf of a number of pharma and biotech companies.

Gordon Muir-Jones, President of Porterhouse Medical US commented: ‘I’m thrilled to have Pat, a former colleague, on board. His excellent heritage from academia, through agency, then pharma and back to the consulting and agency world – means that he has an excellent appreciation of client needs and how best an agency can meet these needs in the context of medical communications support.’

Jon Hallows, joint founder and managing director of the Porterhouse Medical Group, added: ‘This is an exciting time for our US agency, with new business wins resulting in the need for further senior support for Gordon and the team. We are delighted to welcome Pat as his scientific expertise and experience will be a great benefit to the team and our clients.’

‘Over the past 17 years we have built an expert team known for their scientific expertise, creativity and industry knowledge. We feel that Pat will bolster the Group and greatly look forward to working with him,’ concluded Brian Parsons, joint founder and managing director of the Porterhouse Medical Group.

At the Porterhouse Medical Group, we pride ourselves on the close working relationships we maintain with our client partners. This new appointment will allow us to strengthen our relationship with our US clients and maintain our outstanding service levels, working as a strategic global partner to improve people’s lives.
