Aristotle described the three parts of persuasion:

1)Ethos: persuading through your authority or credibility
2) Pathos: appealing to the audience’s emotions
3) Logos: winning people over by logical argument

What Aristotle was pointing out is that there are different kinds of argument that any communication must account for if it is to be successful.
