The ‘Faces of
HAE’ campaign raised awareness of hereditary angioedema (HAE); a rare,
inherited disease thought to affect just 1,500 people in the UK. The condition
causes extreme swelling of tissue in the face and other areas of the body. ‘Faces
of HAE’ activity included media outreach, an online campaign to help identify
undiagnosed patients and an educational initiative for the diagnosed community
delivered in conjunction with the national advocacy group, HAE UK.
Paul Dixon,
Head of Marketing UK & Ireland, CSL Behring UK Ltd, commented: “The results
of the campaign were exceptional – Faces of HAE has measurably increased
awareness of this rare disease and helped to bring the community together.
We’re delighted that the success of the campaign has been recognised, and most
importantly that the profile of HAE has been raised.”
At this
year’s Communiqué Awards, Pegasus were finalists for the 2015 ‘Consultancy of
the Year’ award after scooping the prize in 2014 and finalists for the
‘Excellence in Product/Brand Communications’ award for their ‘Managing IBS
Better Together’ campaign for Boehringer Ingelheim.
Jo
Spadaccino, Director and Head of Pharma & Life Sciences at Pegasus, commented:
“Faces of HAE is a campaign that we are proud to have delivered. It has made a
difference to those living with HAE and the wider perception of the condition.
It also reflects the value of a fully integrated communications programme in
helping to inspire healthy decisions.”
“The Communiqué
award adds to Pegasus’ 2015 wins that now include five AMEC awards including
gold for most effective consumer PR campaign for its work with Bayer Animal
Health, and two wins at the OTC Awards for brands Buscopan and Care.”
The prestigious Communiqué Awards recognise excellence in healthcare communications to local,
European and international audiences, acting as a benchmark for the highest
possible standards across the industry.
