Lucid Group – Hanging tough in support of Wycombe Homeless Connection

- PMLiVE
This Saturday, 19 brave Lucidians took to the fields of Henley to conquer the first of Tough Mudder’s 2018 obstacle course events. The Tough Mudder course features 13 obstacles over 5 miles (or 20+ obstacles over 10 miles for the crazier few among us!)

Tough Mudder prides itself on being an event for everyone, with the emphasis on the challenges that you overcome through teamwork instead of individual achievements or timed results. This is completely aligned with Lucid’s culture and so it is an ideal event for Lucid to participate in on behalf of its chosen charity partner, Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC). Lucid is passionate about supporting the WHC, which provides life-changing support to homeless people in and around High Wycombe, where the Lucid Group is headquartered.

This year, the Lucid Tough Mudder contingent was organised by Jennie Badger and Emily Knowles, two members of Lucid’s charity working group LUCID SPIRIT. Jennie and Emily have been joined by colleagues and friends from all across the Lucid Group family of companies. Francesca Worthington, who took part in Tough Mudder on Saturday, said: “It was a really amazing chance to bond with the Lucid family and to challenge myself. I can’t wait to come back next year!”

Lucy Hampson, Chair of LUCID SPIRIT and Tough Mudder participant, said “Undertaking Tough Mudder is no mean feat and the fact that so many signed up, came to support or pledged donations highlights our commitment to this worthy cause.” It costs WHC £40 to provide food and a bed for one person for one night, and their annual costs are in the region of £200,000. Almost all of this comes from one-off donations, which means that WHC is constantly under pressure to raise funds.

It’s not too late to support our daring Tough Mudders and help us to raise funds for the life-changing work done by WHC. Please visit: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/LucidSpirit to donate.
