The Spirit of Lucid Group

- PMLiVE

Since 2017, Lucid Group’s charity working group, LUCID SPIRIT, has been actively involved in helping to raise awareness and funds for its charity partners. At launch, Lucid Spirit partnered with the Wycombe Homeless Connection, raising thousands of pounds through several activities such as bake-offs, tough-mudders, pub quizzes, fun runs and even taking part in the Big Sleep Out.

More recently, in 2020, Lucid SPIRIT partnered with SHINE, an education charity that gives children the opportunity to acquire skills and confidence. However, as we all know, COVID-19 soon turned 2020 into one of the most challenging years in living memory for everyone across the world.

The pandemic, and associated lockdowns, had a particularly negative impact on charitable organisations and their ability to fundraise and support their communities at a time when they were needed most. Unsurprisingly, this too put an end to many of Lucid Spirit’s fundraising activities for SHINE. However, Lucid Group maintained its commitment to them by providing them with a significant donation at the end of 2020, along with donating to several other charities nominated by the Lucid Group D&I Committee. A list of these can be found below:

The need to give back and create a sense of purpose and community has never been so acutely felt than over the last 18 months. While Lucid Spirit has always been the backbone of the group’s approach to its charitable work, it was clear that, like everything in 2020, this too needed to evolve and provide more. Lucid Group is therefore delighted to announce the launch of a new Lucid Spirit initiative which expands its remit to include a NEW Lucid Spirit Volunteering Programme (LSVP).

Angela Young, Lucid Group Chief People Officer commented, “The Lucid Spirit Volunteering Programme is an initiative for everyone, company and geography wide, to extend a hand and help communities and people in need. Here at Lucid, our spirit lies within our people and our passion for transforming lives and this initiative takes this further – finding more ways to transform lives.”

Lucid Group is a purpose-driven organisation, and the new LSVP initiative will help strengthen its culture and empower its people to make a difference to a cause close to their hearts. Everyone is being encouraged to take up this opportunity and share their stories to inspire others to volunteer and make a positive difference to the world around us.
