Oliver Devoti, who appeared in Unfinished Plans, created in partnership with PAPYRUS as part of the ‘Creativity for Good’ Campaign, shares his very personal story of how suicide has impacted his life and urges young people to seek help.
Published in December 2020, the Daily Mail wrote a feature article on Oliver Devoti who bravely shared his own story of how suicide has impacted his life and raised awareness for our partner charity PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide.
PAPYRUS is the leading national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. They provide confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, as well as anyone worried about a young person through their helpline – HOPELINEUK.
As part of our ‘Creativity for Good’ initiative, Hamell were selected by PAPYRUS to develop a campaign to raise awareness of this pressing issue and to raise money for this amazing charity. The outcome of which was Unfinished Plans, a short video starring Oliver Devoti, who has also appeared in various TV hits such as Coronation Street, Game of Thrones and BBC drama Bodyguard.
In the article, Oliver opened up about his tragic story of personal loss and how suicide has impacted his family and urges young people to seek help, saying, “We all have those feelings, but it’s talking about it on a day-to-day basis (that makes a difference).” He shares his story in the hope that it will “encourage others to talk openly and help to break down the stigma around suicide.” We would like to thank Oliver and all those who contributed to the Unfinished Plans campaign, and above all PAPYRUS for continuing their vital work to ensure no story is left Unfinished.
