Mtech Access are delighted to announce that they are now a certified NICE Medtech Early Technical Assessment (META) Tool facilitating organisation. Mtech Access’ experts, Samantha Gillard (Director – HTA), Persefoni Ioannou (Consultant – HTA), and Calum Jones (Senior Consultant – Health Economics) all recently passed the NICE META Tool assessment. As accredited facilitators, the team will support Medtech and Digital Health innovators through the META Tool process and beyond. The Mtech Access Team are one of a small number of accredited organisations able to support Medtech innovators throughout commercialisation and launch.

The META Tool was developed by NICE in collaboration with Health Innovation Manchester to help Medtech companies identify gaps in their product development and evidence generation plans. The META tool process helps Medtech companies and product developers understand the evidence requirements for NICE or other payers, and the impact of the differences between regulatory and payer frameworks. It can be used at any stage of product development to explore evidence requirements.

“We are really excited to bring this new service to Medtech, Diagnostic, and Digital Health innovators. Developing the right evidence base that resonates with payers and meets the requirements of assessment bodies like NICE is increasingly important for successful launch and commercialisation. There are so many new technologies with great potential to make a real difference in healthcare settings – it’s fantastic to offer a new service to help make this happen.”
Samantha Gillard (Director – HTA, Mtech Access).

As a certified NICE META tool facilitating organisation, via the META Tool assessment, Mtech Access will help Medtech and Digital Health companies to identify gaps in the product’s evidence package, relevant to HTA and healthcare provider evidence requirements.

In addition to the assessment itself, Mtech Access offer a full suite of HTA and medical technology commercialisation services, including strategy through to evidence generation, economic model development, submission writing, and post-submission support.
