The ASTELLAS INNOVATION CHALLENGE™, an Astellas project developed by emotive, receives further recognition

Following a win at Communiqué 2015, the ASTELLAS INNOVATION CHALLENGE™ has been shortlisted for awards at the PMEAs and CorpComms.

Following a win at Communiqué 2015 in the Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility or Not for Profit/Pro Bono Programmes category, the ASTELLAS INNOVATION CHALLENGE™, developed by emotive, has been shortlisted for awards at both the 2015 Pharmaceutical Market Excellence Awards (PMEAs) and the 2015 CorpComms Awards. At the PMEAs, the project has been nominated as a finalist in the EY Award for Socially Responsible Initiatives category, and at the CorpComms Awards, it is shortlisted for the Best CSR (corporate social responsibility) award.

The ASTELLAS INNOVATION CHALLENGE™ tasked 14–16-year-old students with designing an app to encourage healthy living. Over 900 students from across the UK entered, and a team from St Paul’s Catholic College in Sussex won with the MEMORY STAR™ app. emotive was involved with the project from the very start, and worked closely with Astellas, the judges, the entrants and then with the winning school team to develop the app.

Chris Edmonds, emotive’s Managing Director, commented:

After picking up another Communiqué award this year, it would be wonderful to add another PMEA award, having won the Excellence via Digital/Social Media category in 2014.

“By encouraging young minds to use skills related to STEM [science, technology, engineering and mathematics], the ASTELLAS INNOVATION CHALLENGE™ was designed to inspire students to consider a career in a STEM field. As an agency that strives to push the boundaries of the application of technology in the delivery of healthcare communications, we are happy to have played a part in the project’s success. The success of the MEMORY STAR™ app, which is designed to help young people to maintain a positive outlook on life, also makes us proud. Winning awards is just icing on the cake of what was a really worthwhile project, one that we are all proud of.

You can download the MEMORY STAR™ app for IOS at the iTunes App Store and for Android at Google Play.
