Eldridge and Crump launch new consultancy to drive patient-centred care

Aurora founders today launch Atlas, a new specialist consultancy to help pharmaceutical companies put patients at the heart of everything they do

Aurora founders, Claire Eldridge and Neil Crump, today launch Atlas, a new specialist consultancy that enables pharmaceutical companies to deliver on their mission to put patients at the heart of everything they do. The consultancy supports clients to connect with patients and advance products and services, through Atlas’ strategy, co-design and organisational change offering.

Claire Eldridge, Chief Executive of Atlas, explains: “Patients are actively designing products, services and their own journeys. It is a commercial imperative to be patient-focused so that work is adopted in the marketplace and waste is reduced. And it requires real focus on the patient’s world. That’s exactly what spurred us to create Atlas.”

Atlas develops solutions that support patients to play an active role in their own care, resulting in better outcomes for everyone. Atlas works with patients and other stakeholders in a sustainable way to create strategies, resources and programmes that are co-designed from inception to delivery. The team uses experience in health policy, as well as behavioural and implementation science, to develop programmes. Atlas also supports clients to enhance their processes and practices that underpin patient centricity.

Atlas will be headed-up by Managing Director Aaron Pond, who previously worked with Eldridge and Crump for more than a decade. He adds: “Right now is a pivotal time for healthcare – not only because of COVID but because policy, technology and clinical practice are on an unstoppable path towards patient-led healthcare. I’ve seen first-hand the power of co-designing with patients, for instance recently enabling a major hospital to transform outpatient services, and I’m excited to support clients in charting the way towards patient centricity.”

Offering five services – Find, Align, Co-design, Chart and Advance – Atlas helps clients to shape their internal worlds and external footprints in ways that deliver improvements in patient-oriented outcomes. The team is made up of specialists with expertise in strategy, change implementation, compliance, patient engagement, social science, co-design and innovation.
