The latest results of the GP and Hospital Doctor Media Surveys reveal that the Medscape Professional Network* (MPN) is amongst the leading destinations for doctors in the UK. Of those surveyed, MPN was used by 76% of GPs in the past 12 months, second only to the BMJ (79%). Among hospital doctors, MPN was used by 41% within the past 4 weeks with only NICE and BMJ Group used more.

The healthcare practitioner media use results follow the recent launch of the Medscape.co.uk site, which provides UK HCPs with the latest UK news, drug lookups, vaccination schedules, and more point-of-care tools.  It also reflects Medscape’s recent integration of Guidelines, Guidelines in Practice, Guidelines for Nurses, and Guidelines for Pharmacy to further enhance the support of UK doctors. This addition will strongly support UK GPs, who depend on having access to the most up-to-date guidelines readily available. Among GPs, 94% sought clinical guidelines within the past four weeks, for hospital doctors the rate was 88%.

These survey results reflect the intrinsic role the Medscape Professional Network is playing in healthcare today. We reach over 8 in 10 doctors in the UK, and providing readily accessible medical information is the beating heart of our platform.” said Matthew Eisenstadt, Managing Director, WebMD UK.

Medscape’s reach and digital expertise provides the expertise to design and deliver highly impactful and targeted programmes with guaranteed HCP engagement.

*The Medscape Professional Network in the UK comprises of Medscape.com, Medscape.co.uk, Univadis, Guidelines and Guidelines in Practice.
