Star ranked in UK's Best Workplaces for Women 2018
Star is delighted to have been recognised by Great Place to Work as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women.
Best Workplaces for Women acknowledges ‘organisations which go beyond the statutory to ensure that women in their workforce are treated fairly when it comes to pay, recognition, training and promotion opportunities’, as well as companies that ‘[…] ensure that women in their workforce have a fair and positive work experience’.
Ranked 10th in the medium sized-company category, Star was recognised for its parity of pay across gender, equal numbers of men and women in teams, having women in its Executive team, a flexible working policy, and the fact that female employees are able to return from maternity leave to a flexible working pattern.
HR Manager, Kate Hosker, said: “I was utterly delighted to have Star recognised as a Great Place for women to work. We have taken big steps to make Star an inclusive, welcoming place for everyone to be able to do their best work, including flexible working and working from home.
“We have a fantastic heritage of women being able to return after maternity leave to adapted roles that enable them to have the correct work-life balance, without putting their careers on hold. This award backs up our recent re-accreditation of Gold Investors in People, where one of the comments about Star was: ‘It’s the best place I’ve worked at. Strong values, lived in practice, great managers and great team’”.
