As highlighted in this month’s cover article on behaviour change, ‘no matter how compelling the science behind behaviour change is or how clear the benefit is, it’s not enough if you don’t understand the people – what motivates them, what gives them hope’.
This is a theme that runs through the heart of pharma and marketing and comms – if you can motivate people and give them hope, you have a strong chance of succeeding in your chosen endeavour.
September is the 8th World Alzheimer’s Month, and on pages 28-29 we look at how previously unsuccessful research is being built upon with renewed energy to learn more about this devastating disease and how to treat it. We also have a focus on promising new research on page 30, which looks at possible new ways to detect early warning signs, including a blood test that could spot Alzheimer’s before it occurs.
After working at PMGroup for nearly four years, I’m immensely proud to be part of a team of people who always strive to do their best and deliver on their promises. Going forward, I’m excited to take on the role of Group Managing Editor and eager to continue in this PMGroup tradition.
