The Fishawack Group has added another string to its bow, acquiring creative consultancy Blue Latitude Health.

The move will see Fishawack marry its medical communications strategy with the creative vision from Blue Latitude, a company well versed in developing healthcare solutions for its pharma and biotech clients.

This is the third acquisition for Fishawack in just over a year, and Oliver Dennis, chief executive officer of the Fishawack Group, credits this to the company’s determination to become a new player in the global creative agency space.

He said: “In 2016, we set out our vision to form a major new force in the global creative agency space that would make us as strong in the creative arena as we already are in medical communications.

“With three acquisitions in this space in the last 16 months, I think we’ve firmly announced our intention to achieve this goal. We were actively looking for a consultancy that could bring strategic and customer experience expertise to our portfolio and Blue Latitude Health fits perfectly.”

Blue Latitude has operations in both London and New York, but the latter base has proved particularly attractive to Fishawack.

“Many of our clients are wanting a partner that has specialist global capabilities both commercially and medically, and can ensure alignment of communication objectives,” commented Gail Flockhart, Group Managing Director of Fishawack.

“Blue Latitude Health has a deep strategic consulting capability and bring us a base in New York City, from which we can continue to expand our East Coast creative and medical communications teams.”

Meanwhile for Blue Latitude, the move was fuelled with the promise of expanding its reach.

Fred Bassett, Head of Strategy and Co-founder of Blue Latitude Health, said: “We are thrilled to join an organisation with the global scale and extended services in medical and scientific communications that Fishawack offers.

“Our strategic and commercial focus will complement Fishawack’s scientific and medical foundations and allow us to expand our reach, particularly in the US, while deepening our client relationships.”

Blue Latitude is the latest business to join the Fishawack Group, which has made a total of eight strategic acquisitions to date, including Carling Communications and Healthcircle.
