Appoints Richard Jones managing director of new 'patient-centric' agency

Richard Jones Open Health has continued its expansion with the launch of a new ‘patient-centric’ practice called Engage.

The company has appointed Richard Jones as Engage’s managing director and he arrives at the UK agency having previously served at director level at Atlantis Healthcare and Healthcare at Home.

Prior to that Jones (pictured above) spent 17 years in the pharmaceutical industry in a series of senior UK and European commercial roles for companies that included GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer.

“Launching Engage is an exciting opportunity to support our UK and international healthcare clients at a strategic level in their desires to understand and engage with patients,” Jones said.

“Engage delivers a patient engagement strategy with a difference. We take time to immerse ourselves in the real-world patient, apply a deep understanding of our client’s objectives and the healthcare market that they operate in and bring together a broad range of disciplines in healthcare, to provide powerful and insightful patient engagement strategies.”

In addition to Jones the Engage leadership team will also include Open Health’s CEO David Rowley and creative director Marcus Perry. The company, which has also recruited Rachael Parkman as an account director will operate from offices in London and Marlow.

David Rowley, Open Health’s CEO, said: “The patient agenda is a major force for all concerned with the delivery of healthcare solutions, products and medicines. Open Health has been delivering a breadth of patient programmes for some time. The launch of Engage  allows us to channel these activities and build truly integrated solutions.”
