Pegasus named 2016 Communications Consultancy of the Year

Takes home top agency award at Communiqué Awards
Communique Communications Consultancy of the Year Pegasus

Pegasus picked up the prestigious Communications Consultancy of the Year award last night at the 2016 Communiqué Awards in London.

The agency, which was recently acquired by Ashfield, was pronounced a 'worthy winner' by the Communiqué judges, who singled out its 'genuinely integrated' offering for particular praise.

It's the second win in this category for Pegasus, which last lifted the trophy in 2014. Since then it has seen rapid growth, with its team expanding from 70 to more than 100 in 2015.

As part of that process the agency recruited candidates from areas such as advertising, journalism, behaviour change science and nutrition.

Pegasus said this expansion had in-turn seen its clients expand the briefs they offer the agency, adding that during 2015 its business grew by 39% making the year its most successful one ever.

The Communiqué judges said: “The Pegasus 'Health first, sector second' ethos led them to a truly outstanding performance in 2015. They implemented a clear business strategy focussed around simple commercial drivers, which delivered impressive growth.

“Their genuinely integrated offer, built around the strengths of their people and winning combination of style and substance, meant that they really stood out to the judges as a worthy winner.”

The 2016 Communiqué Awards also saw Pegasus take home the Excellence in Media Relations - Brand Associated Consumer Health category for Sex Degrees of Separation.

Launched during Sexual Health Week, the media campaign for Lloyds Pharmacy was centred on its online tool that calculated the number of indirect sexual partners a person has had.

The campaign generated some 1.6 million completions of the calculator, and over 20,000 social shares. Most importantly, more than 1,200 people took up Lloyds' STI assessments and organic sales of sexual health products doubled.

Run by PMLiVE's publisher the PMGroup, the Communiqué Awards are specifically designed to recognise and commend excellence and best practice in local, European and international healthcare communications.
